Comments for Dr. Stephen Watson

I have definitely been scammed by either the cosmetic doctor who performed this procedure and/or the company who invented these contour threads. For a few years I have been seeing articles on this cosmetic surgeon in some local magazines. One of which is Inform magazine. I kept seeing these articles about his Four-Dimensional Face Lift and I guess it really impressed me and so I decided he would be the doctor I would go to to pursue my cosmetic surgery. I had been interested in getting liposuction under my jawline, a mid-face lift and a brow lift. I was looking at the endoscopic brow lift since I didn't want the more invasive coronal brow lift. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Stephen Watson in Plano, TX. He "seemed" like a very nice guy. He was very down-to-earth. I showed him an old driver's license when I was younger and when my eyebrows were in a higher position. He said he could get them to that position again. I didn't know about the contour thread procedure until he told me about them. The way he talked about them it was like it was the holy grail. He told me that one of the local news groups did a piece on him and the contour threads and he said that one of the journalists actually came to him afterwards to have it done. I don't know which news program this show was on. He told me they would do a regular endoscopic brow lift and then secure the areas with contour threads. He also said the results could last for years if not indefinitely because the muscles and skin would reposition themselves to their new position, the areas would scar into place and that collagen would form along the threads to keep them secure. Ok, so, I had this procedure done just about a year ago and I've had nothing but problems with the procedure and doctor since then. The first follow-up appointment he was really surprised and said "This is the best lift I've had in a male patient". Well, I not only had good brow elevation, but I also had indentations in my forehead from the threads. He told me to just massage them and put heat on them and it would go away. Well, the dents went away, but I ended up with lines/bulges...almost like railroad tracks in my forehead which are noticeable when relaxed and even more noticeable when making expressions like raising my eyebrows. Also, my results almost vanished in just a few weeks to a few months time. And, get this, this was $5000-plus later. He agreed to do a 2nd procedure to help reduce the bulging of the threads and do the lift again to restore the results. I actually lost the lift on one side because the anesthesia had me vomiting pretty good after the surgery and the stitches tore. So, I had lop-sided brows. He restored the results, but they quickly disappeared again and the bulges were still there. Time went by and I went back a 3rd time for another "revision". I sent his office a list of things I wanted done and they confirmed they would remove the offending threads. They also ran some threads vertically to pull up my inner eyebrows. Surprise, surprise, those results also quickly disappeared. My inner eyebrows have fallen again and I have an angry look again even when I am not angry. And, during these 3 procedures he started injecting the area with botox saying that my male brow was very strong and that's why the results weren't holding up. He said the botox would weaken the areas until the repositioning took hold. That must have sounded good theoretically, but it was not based on reality. The contour thread lift was a $5000 temporary procedure that disappeared almost as fast as the money I spent on it. I had 3 total surgeries with this other doctor and he said he removed the threads that bulged, but he didn't. He has lied to me a few times about this. Not only did he lie to me, so did several of the other girls that work in his office. I asked many of them "Will the results last now that the threads were removed?". They all said that they would since they were in place so long and everything healed in place. BUT, the threads were never removed!! I can still feel them under my skin. They can still be seen. When I touch them there is a pain that also refers/radiates to the incision sites. I can't believe that everyone in that office - including the doctor - would lie straight to my face! And, now when I am talking to Dr Watson he just starts walking right out of the office and stops listening to me when I am talking, but his assistant, Dr. Lee, is left there talking to me. And, believe me, that is a waste of time. So, all I did was pay for an "experimental" procedure that has no long-lasting results even though I was told otherwise. I now seem to be getting ignored and put on the "back burner" whenever trying to talk to the office now. And, I can't even get this doctor to remove the threads. He lies straight to my face. He refuses to correct his mistakes. I figure that all I did was pay for a PROCEDURE and not RESULTS. They are experimenting on folks with this new procedure. I would love to take him to court for malpractice or mental anguish, pain and suffering, but a few lawyers I emailed said it costs a lot of money to sue for medical issues and that it won't even be worth it. Well, it's worth it to me!! And for every procedure he has done on me I have to keep burning up vacation time from work. After every surgery I could actually feel the brows falling and felt pressure in the upper eyelid area. Every day I am so self-conscious and looking in every damn mirror and seeing my results and money going down the drain! Depressing and stressful, but I guess the doctor isn't accountable to anyone so it doesn't matter. Well, that shouldn't be the case! The doctor told me that I am the only one in his office having these problems, but I seriously doubt it. Now that I have discovered he lies so easily and convincingly I think that is a lie too. Below I have included a few links that will give you more info. The first one is this doctor's website. The second one is from another cosmetic surgery site warning folks about all the hype surrounding the contour threads. The third link is from a newspaper article with someone else complaining of the same problems I am having. I know there are probably hundreds if not thousands of folks who were ripped off and future patients who will go through the same thing. Folks paying thousands of dollars for something that only lasts a few months to a year. Thousands of folks who went in to look a little younger, but came out with a disfigured forehead, threw their money down the drain, are now more self-conscious and are going through much pain, misery and humiliation.
